Didn't break the record

I'm sad to say that for the first time since I built my butterfly garden I didn't break the record for number of species seen during a year. 2010's total was only 37. At least I did see one new species never recorded in my garden until last year.

Oh each year brings is pleasures and heartbreaks....it's too bad you did not break the number of species. But it's very exciting that you saw totally NEW species! emoticon

To make up for it I got to see two new birds in the yard today that I've never seen. I'd say that is the Goddess making it up to me. What do you think?

37 was still pretty respectable though.

Could very well be....as I think she is quite proud of how you conduct yourself and how you take care of her creatures....
My spirit guide, Alara is an "EARTH"....and she really likes you a lot. Probably why I do....*hugs*

I believe that a little more every day. You should see how things are sprouting up in the garden. Just today I found a bunch of milkweed plants that I didn't even realize had come up.

Had trouble with Passionvine more than milkweed. This year it is sprouting everywhere imaginable. I really can't let it grow in all of the places where it it. I have had an idea to add some more arbors along the pathway to give the strays a place to grow. I think that it would have a neat looking effect, sort of a tunnel into the heart of the garden.

OH...very good idea indeed. You could even hit the recycled yard waste place (if you have one)....and grab any nice long branches that people bring in from storm damage and stuff and make the arbor out of those using garden twine to wind them together...

I'll have to look for a place where a tree branch arbor would look good. I have 3 new metal arbors on order right now. With luck maybe they'll be here by the end of next week.
