Bird Photos

I thought that this would be a good place for people to share bird photos that they have taken. I'll start with a few taken in South Texas. The first photo is a male Ladder-backed Woodpecker. The second shot is a Great Kiskadee.

Re: Bird Photos

I don't know the names of most of the birds but we do have such a variety here. In the tree closest to the house I always see a red-headed woodpecker (and hear him too!) Then there are these very small bright yellow birds with black wings that remind me of canaries. And we have a lot of cardinals around as well as noisy blue jays. In the spring I'm always awakened by the cardinals trills, most of the time I enjoy it too (hehehe)

There are so many birds I'd love to identify but am too lazy to look them up emoticon Keep posting photos, I enjoy looking at them!

It sounds like you have a lot of fine friends to enjoy. There was one area in Fort Worth where I loved to walk because of the birds. During certain times there were tons of cardinals everywhere. It seemed like they were in every tree in this one meadow. Here are a few more bird pics to enjoy. The one on the left is a Rainbow Finch. The one on the right is a Ruby-throated Hummingbird.

Next we have a pair of Bluebirds on the left and a Robin on the right.

Wake up Queeny. You can't enjoy my photos if you're unconscious. Thanks. I have managed to get a few that I'm proud of. Thank goodness for digital photography though. Some of them might have been a total loss without the ability to clean them up in Photoshop.

I know that feeling! LOL
I have taken pictures out the front windshield and had to 'clean' off the bugs that were splatted on the window, out of the picture! emoticon

Speaking of windshields, I missed a great opportunity yesterday. After getting home and parking my car after seeing a movie there was a female Cardinal right in front of the car. If I had my camera I could have shot right through the windshield. Then only a couple of feet from my driver side door was a plump Dove.

Re: Bird Photos

I actually took that advice today. There was a male Cardinal, a Mourning Dove and two Eastern Meadowlarks in the mix. Here are some from my lucky shooting day a few days ago.

Those are lovely PK. You are lucky to be able to get them to sit still.
I saw a blue butterfly in our garden yesterday but it flew away as soon as I moved, so no picture.
