I think that my sister Diane has a feeder like that one. It is a really cool design. Very multi-functional.

I loved it....so did the birds! I kept using it even after hubby built me my massive Bird feeding station... emoticon

That was a sweet thing for your hubby to do. Mine has never built me anything.

Re: The beauty of pollination

I think mine did it more for himself AND for me....see I had bird feeding stations all over the yard. And in MN in winter, I'd make him DIG paths to each one so that I could fill them..sometimes he'd have to dig several feet of snow from 8 different paths, and do it a couple times a day! emoticon So he built this massive, four posted, roof covered feeding station. That had different holders, and posts and places to hang whatever I wanted under the shelter, as well as nail some woodpecker 'bars' on the outside.
You can see just a bit here in the SPRING along side my OLD lilac bush...

Yeah, he did...and that little window there was actually the window right beside my rocking chair in our living room, so even in the gloomiest of mid January days, there would be life outside....it always gave me hope.♥

And that Lilac bush...when it bloomed, I'd open all the windows upstairs and just that one down stairs and it would draw in the fresh lilac smell....if I close my eyes I can still smell it.♥

That sounds a lot like my sister's place. She has feeders right near her kitchen window. I typically have to go outside to see my critters, though with the way my garden is growing just give it time and the house will be surrounded.

Nothing wrong with surrounding the house with gardens. I mean seriously....more gardens less grass, means less time mowing more time observing! emoticon

I know that the guys here would appreciate less grass to mow.
