Re: Found a very weird looking moth

I have a good mail order supplier in Florida and ordered 30 seedlings, plus bought two nice more mature plants from a garden shop locally. All of them have been planted and probably just in the nick of time. There has been at least one report of a Monarch sighting here in Justin. I haven't seen any yet but I'm still hopeful. It just needs to warm up and clear up weather wise.

Monarchs typically start northward around the middle to the end of March. Reports say that they've been seen as far as Arkansas already.

I haven't seen a single one yet and a frost came through that may have killed all of my seedlings. I'm not in the least bit happy.

Oh no! emoticon Is it to late to order more?
I've not seen anything here cept those little white butterflies....that are extremely hard to photograph. They flit and flutter constantly and are very fast! emoticon I've filled a shallow bird/butterfly container...maybe I can get them so settle long enough to get a pic. emoticon

I can typically order it most any time. The problem is having spare money. I still haven't seen a single Monarch.

I am no longer without Monarchs. The first two were seen on the same day, the 12th. There is also milkweed growing in multiple locations. It just kind of sneaked up on me.

I agree. It turns out that not all of those seedlings died. Some of them came back from the root. Yay. I'm pretty sure that some of the seeds have sprouted too.
