We haven't had any appreciable rain for a while now and it has me worried.

Oh dear...I had hoped that you all would not have to endure another year of drought.. emoticon

The rain that we've gotten lately hasn't been very substantial. I'm expecting a tough year. Another thing I'm crossing my fingers for is the first signs of milkweed growth. The Monarchs are moving north again and they need host plants. I may have to visit my favorite garden shop to see if they've gotten milkweed yet. Otherwise I have to wait for the plant sale.

There is plenty of milkweed now but no Monarchs. How frustrating. At least we are getting rain, though it may interfere with a trip this weekend.

I've seen very few at all this year. I am getting Queens now instead. My Gregg's Mistflower is finally getting some good blooms going so the Queens were expected. I've been checking the milkweed for caterpillars but so far haven't found any.

Since Cabbage Whites are so widely distributed the chances are good. Without seeing photos I couldn't be 100% sure though. Congrats on your Monarch sightings. I've only been seeing a Few Queens and Variegated Fritillaries lately.
