I just have to remember to contact him a little bit before the sale to remind him.

At the last meeting of the Lepidopterists Society I was able to get seeds for some new plants as well. I hope to have luck propogating those.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.
Do you use those mini seed pellet things:
THESE....
I've always had good luck using them. And I used to find them pretty much every where right about now....Most nursery's, home improvement stores, and even Wal*mart...

How funny that you should ask about the peat pellets. I absolutely swear by them. Nothing has shown as great a results for me as they do. This year I bought some of the tomato plant sized ones. They are huge. I have milkweed seeds and Crimson Clover already sprouting.

LOL Great minds and all!
I loved those pellets. I used them in my sun room in MN to start all my seeds in!

They are also great because they add organic matter to the soil after you plant them. I just started a whole new batch yesterday.

Yes they are and you don't have to disturb the seedling in order to transplant either...

There are still some challenges to using them though. You really have to be careful how much you water them once they are started.

I think that the official term for what sometimes happens to mine is damping off. The little stem just turns kind of brown at the base, shrivels up and it dies.
