Re: Flowers and Plants

The only sort of plants that I had that problem with were outdoors. My Morning Glories were trying to take over my house last year as were my Cardinal Climber vines. They were growing under the skirting of the house and up under the shutters on the windows.

LOL Oh dear! They sound like Daylilies...I had them pushing out the old siding on our first house! And even after we "thought" we dug them out, they still came back till we used this "Kill All" stuff! emoticon

Re: Flowers and Plants

I thought that I had seen the last of both of them at the end of last year as well. Unfortunately I wasn't thinking when I removed the old dried out vines in the front of the house. I was inadvertantly spreading seeds everywhere. There were little vinelets all over the place. I only allowed a few to grow this year and didn't have as much trouble. My thought is that the drier weather kept them in check.

That is possible. But what if you all have a 'wet' Spring?
We have some strange weather already this year.

We used to have morning glories in Port Orchard, WA.....they took over our lean-to for the firewood. Hubby was going to cut them down once, and I said "NO! They are the only things holding that thing up!" emoticon

If we have a wet Spring I'll just have to pull seedlings and maybe let a few go again. They are so pretty on the trellises. Some of the butterflies even like them.

Your story about the lean-to gave me a good chuckle.

I've seen photos of Wysteria and it looks amazing. The other kind of vines that I have are several types of Passionvines. They are host plants for some of my butterflies. I have 6 definite different varieties and one possible hybrid. When they are in full bloom they look awesome.

Passionvine? I don't believe I've ever seen one of those? Are they like the passion flower?
You must have an incredible yard, I'll bet it's like being in paradise when in bloom and full of butterflies.... emoticon
